8.5”x11”, 20# White Paper, Bid #06-019B:

 

Due to market restrictions (allocations), Xerox withdrew their bid offer.  KCDA does not have a contract in place for the Xerox Branded white commodity papers at this time.

 

KCDA was able to re-negotiate the bid pricing for 84 bright Grays Harbor (#17610). 

We have made a one time purchase (for the time frame from now through July 20th) of approximately 4000 cases at a price slightly lower (approximately 25 cents lower) than that bid for KCDA #17810 (92 bright) and much lower than the price offered by Grays Harbor on KCDA bid #06-019B (approximately $2.50 lower than their original bid price).  So, “for the time being” pricing in order of best value from KCDA’s warehouse stock is as follows:

 

KCDA No. 17810, CURRENTLY GP OR DOMTAR, AS OF 5/3 = $21.7759 PER CASE WITH OVER 9,000 CASES ON HAND

KCDA No. 17600, XEROX BRANDED, AS OF 5/3 = $21.9258 PER CASE WITH OVER 6,000 CASES ON HAND AND 1760 CASES ENROUTE

KCDA  No. 17610, GRAYS HARBOR, AS OF 5/3 = $24.57 PER CASE WITH OVER 4,000 CASES ENROUTE

 

Prices shown are for “individual” cases, full truck load quantities will be a better value.  Due to current market conditions, prices are subject to change without notice and subject to quantities on hand.

 

Please keep in mind that we have not brought in any additional stock (at the new, much higher bid prices) for items #17810 and #17600.  When, or if KCDA brings in stock, the prices will rise above the new pricing for #17610 (Grays Harbor).  So, while the Grays Harbor sheet does not appear to be much of a value at this time…we expect it may be one of the best values come July.

 

Many mills are filling orders on a “reservation” only basis (kinder word for allocation).  The market is expected to remain “tight”, with limited availability and the possibility of additional price increases during the first week of June. 

 

At this time, KCDA’s warehouse pricing is a better value than mill direct orders from KCDA’s current contract.

 

KCDA’s next paper bid is scheduled as follows:

            Release on June 14, 2006

            Opens on July 13, 2006

            Awards on the evening of July 20, 2006
