Welcome to the KCDA HotSheet
The KCDA Hot Sheet has been developed to alert members to new
contracts, market or price changes, and contracts that are
nearing renewal.

Test
Scanners and Forms
KCDA now has a bid in place for Scantron compatible
forms and test scanning machines (Grademaster and Advantage).
Compare prices, you may find Grademaster Scanner and forms to be
less expensive than your current “lease” program; you might
be able to afford 2 machines with our terrific bid pricing.
Watch our web site for ordering instructions and pricing, key

Easel
Pads and Slinky Sticky Notes
KCDA has added two new “Write “n Stick” Easel Pads
that are 30% psot consumer content and bleed resistant.

Bid Awards

Paper
In an effort to bring our members the best pricing, KCDA is now
bidding 20#white multi-purpose papers every 3 months. While the
supplying mill may change, the same quality standards will
apply. For orders that leave the mills before July 21, 2005,
KCDA will supply the following brands:

Recycled Fiber, Georgia Pacific Eureka

multipurpose colors will once again be supplied by Domtar.
Did you know
that a truckload of Xerox Recycled is one penny less per
case than the Xerox Virgin Fiber! This would be a great
opportunity to purchase Xerox RECYCLED
Fraser Papers has been
purchased by Smart Papers. You will receive the same
quality papers under a new label in future deliveries as new
inventory arrives at KCDA.
Future
deliveries of carbonless papers, press weight only, will be
supplied by Mead – a quality producer of paper products.
KCDA has some NCR press weight
papers available, for a limited time. If you have a brand
preference, please contact Melinda Kinsley.
Bright
papers
Wausau Papers was very aggressive in their pricing to KCDA this
year. So, you will see many more Wausau Astrobrights
delivered to your schools this year. KCDA is careful to
award for similar color matches, and will be adding other Wausau
Astrobright shades to our current line of bright papers.
Construction
Paper
Riverside Construction Papers has changed their “recipe”
(formulation) for groundwood construction papers. In the
past, Riverside added 25% sulphite content to their ground wood
papers. Now their sheet is 100% groundwood, with no
sulphite content. For the first time, KCDA members may
receive a groundwood papers from Riverside Papers and Pacon
Paper Products. KCDA has assigned new item numbers to the
groundwood construction papers. As inventories for the old
“recipe” run out, your order will be automatically
transferred to the new 100% groundwood product. If a shade
has been discontinued, you will receive a notification offering
alternative shades and/or a selection from the 1st quality (100%
sulphite) construction papers.

Unit
of Measure Change
Index
Cards
KCDA continues to evaluate packaging quantities for items.
This month we have decreased the unit of measure on all
index cards from 1,000 to 100 per package. To locate the new
item numbers on KCDA Supply Link simply search for index, or
enter the old item number in the KCDA No. field.
Clicking the search button will bring up the new item
numbers. If there are other items you would like us to evaluate

Scheduling
Delivery of School Start-Up Orders
KCDA Customer Service Representatives will be contacting
districts during the next few weeks to schedule delivery at a
time convenient for members.
Some things to remember when scheduling:
- Orders placed prior
to June 1, 2005 and received in June or July will receive a
1% reduction in KCDA Service Fees for all items shipping
from the KCDA Warehouse.
- Districts not
utilizing accrual accounting may request a 9/1 billing date
on invoices.

Mill Tour
Longview
Fiber
Are you interested in an October
tour of the Longview Fiber mill? This mill Manufacturers
colored art rolls and boxes. Our host for this tour will
be Pacon Papers
Gray's Harbor Company Facility
Due
to a mill shutdown for maintenance, the Gray’s Harbor Paper
Mill tour has been delayed until Thursday June 2nd
at 10am. . If you are interested in more
information about either of these tours, please contact Melinda
